INCIMAT carried out the design and verification of lifting and handling systems for large-capacity industrial storage tanks, defining the components required to ensure safe operations during fabrication, transportation, upending, positioning, and installation of the equipment.
The scope of work included the analysis of the various handling stages of the tank, the determination of the most critical load cases, and the assessment of the forces generated during both the main lifting operations and tailing maneuvers.
Using advanced structural models, the behavior of the tank and the auxiliary lifting components was verified, including lifting lugs, tailing lugs, reinforcement plates, local stiffeners, and load transfer regions.
The study enabled the evaluation of stress distributions, local deformations, and the load-bearing capacity of the different components involved in the lifting operations, ensuring that all activities could be performed within the required safety margins.
The results provided a solid technical basis for the safe execution of lifting and positioning operations, minimizing risks during installation activities and contributing to the structural integrity of the equipment throughout all handling phases.
