INCIMAT carried out a study to optimize the height and orientation of an industrial chimney, with the objective of improving the behavior of atmospheric emissions and minimizing their impact on surrounding facilities and the local environment.
The scope of work included the analysis of the characteristics of the emitted gases, prevailing meteorological conditions, the geometry of nearby facilities, and the specific topographical features of the site.
Using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, different chimney height, location, and orientation configurations were evaluated. The study analyzed emission plume development, recirculation phenomena, and the interaction of emissions with adjacent buildings and structures.
The results enabled the identification of the most favorable configurations for maximizing atmospheric dispersion, reducing local pollutant concentrations, and minimizing the risk of gas re-entrainment into sensitive areas of the facility.
The study provided valuable technical criteria for optimizing chimney design and improving the overall performance of the gas exhaust system, contributing to enhanced operational safety and environmental performance of the industrial plant.
