INCIMAT carried out the structural design and verification of industrial storage tanks, assessing their load-bearing performance under operating conditions, service loads, and environmental actions expected throughout their service life.
The scope of work included the geometric analysis of the tank, the definition of shell, bottom, and roof plate thicknesses, as well as the verification of stiffeners, reinforcing rings, nozzles, access systems, platforms, and associated auxiliary components.
During the development of the project, key aspects such as stability under hydrostatic pressure, wind loads, vacuum conditions, thermal effects, maintenance loads, differential settlements, and potential accidental operating scenarios were thoroughly evaluated.
Using advanced structural models, both the global and local behavior of the tank were analyzed, allowing the identification of critical stress areas, deformation patterns, and stress concentrations at connections, supports, and nozzle junctions.
The result was a safe and optimized structural solution designed to ensure the integrity, durability, and reliability of the storage tank within a demanding industrial environment.
