Analysis of Thermal Bridges in Industrial Facades for Energy Optimization

INCIMAT conducted a specific study of thermal bridges in the building envelope of an industrial facility, evaluating their impact on energy efficiency, indoor comfort, and the risk of surface condensation.

The study included the identification of specific points on the facade—such as junctions between the building envelope and the structure, metal fasteners, window and door frames, facade panels, and other elements likely to cause discontinuities in the thermal insulation.

Using two-dimensional and three-dimensional heat transfer models, local heat flows were analyzed, making it possible to quantify the energy losses associated with each construction detail and identify the areas with the greatest potential for improvement.

The study made it possible to optimize the building envelope’s configuration through construction solutions aimed at reducing heat loss, minimizing the risk of condensation, and improving the building’s overall energy performance.

The result was a more efficient and technically optimized building envelope, contributing to a reduction in the facility’s energy consumption and an improvement in the durability of the building systems.
