Design and Optimization of a Steel Structure for an Industrial Processing Facility

INCIMAT carried out the design and optimization of a steel structure for an industrial processing facility, designed to house equipment, operating platforms, auxiliary systems, and facilities specific to a specialized industrial activity.

The work included defining the structural model and analyzing permanent loads, live loads, wind loads, equipment loads, potential thermal effects, and stresses resulting from industrial operations. Based on this data, the overall behavior of the structure was verified, as well as the strength and stability of its main components.

Throughout the project, special attention was paid to optimizing steel sections, bracing, platforms, main beams, columns, and secondary elements, seeking a solution that was safe, efficient, and compatible with the functional requirements of the industrial process.

The scope also included the verification of ultimate and serviceability limit states, the review of displacements, deformations, and overall stability, as well as the definition of construction criteria to facilitate the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of the structure.

The result was an optimized steel structural solution, tailored to the operational needs of an industrial process building and designed to ensure safety, functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
