INCIMAT carried out a wind pressure distribution study on an industrial building, evaluating the interaction between airflow and the building envelope to identify the areas most affected by wind actions.
The scope of work included the analysis of the building geometry, wind exposure, prevailing wind directions, roof and façade configurations, as well as the potential influence of surrounding buildings and nearby structures.
Using advanced simulation techniques, the distribution of wind pressures and suctions across the building envelope was determined, allowing the identification of critical areas on roofs, corners, eaves, façades, and other structural features.
The results of the study provided valuable information for improving structural design criteria and optimizing cladding systems, fixings, purlins, roofing components, and façade systems subjected to wind loading.
The result was a technical assessment aimed at enhancing the safety, durability, and structural efficiency of the industrial building under demanding wind conditions.
