Structural Analysis of Foundation Slabs Subjected to Concentrated Loads from Industrial Equipment

INCIMAT conducted a structural verification of foundation slabs designed to support industrial equipment with high concentrated loads, evaluating the system’s load-bearing capacity in response to stresses transmitted by machinery, tanks, bases, and process components.

The work included an analysis of vertical loads, localized stresses, possible eccentricities, punching effects, and pressure distribution on the ground, taking into account both the slab’s overall behavior and the local response at the equipment support points.

During the project, analyses were conducted for bending, shear, punching, deflections, and contact stresses, with special attention paid to the compatibility between the foundation, the soil, and the supported industrial equipment.

This verification made it possible to identify the areas of the slab subject to the highest stresses, optimize the required reinforcement, and define reinforcement or structural validation criteria based on actual load and operating conditions.

The result was a technical evaluation aimed at ensuring the safety, stability, and durability of the foundation, guaranteeing the proper operation of the industrial equipment and reducing risks associated with load concentrations or excessive deformations.
