Fire Protection System – Hydraulic Network Calculation for an Industrial Distribution Center

INCIMAT performed the hydraulic design calculations for the fire protection system of an industrial distribution center, developing a solution capable of ensuring the flow rate, pressure, and coverage necessary to protect the facility.

The project included an analysis of the building’s layout, storage areas, fire compartments, risk classification, and the distribution of the active fire protection systems planned for the facility.

Based on these parameters, the hydraulic sizing of the system was performed, taking into account main pipes, branch lines, sprinklers, fire hydrant outlets, fire hydrants, control valves, booster pumps, and connection points to the water supply system.

During the project, pressure drops, available pressures, simultaneous flow rates, and the most unfavorable operating conditions were verified to ensure an adequate response to fire scenarios.

The result was an optimized, safe fire protection system that is compatible with the distribution center’s operations, helping to protect both people and property and ensure the continuity of industrial activity.
