INCIMAT developed the controlled demolition project for a tall cooling tower, defining a demolition methodology aimed at ensuring worker safety, protecting nearby facilities, and maintaining full control over the dismantling process.
The scope of work included the preliminary structural inspection of the tower, the characterization of existing materials, the analysis of stability conditions throughout the different demolition stages, and the assessment of potential impacts on the surrounding industrial environment.
Using advanced structural models, various demolition sequences were evaluated, verifying the structural behavior at each stage and determining the conditions required to maintain overall stability throughout the entire demolition process.
The project also included the planning of temporary works, access systems, working platforms, lifting equipment, waste management procedures, and specific measures for controlling risks associated with working at height and industrial demolition activities.
The results enabled the definition of a safe and technically optimized demolition sequence, minimizing operational risks and ensuring the successful execution of the works in accordance with the project requirements and safety objectives.
