INCIMAT carried out an acoustic assessment to evaluate the noise impact generated by chillers installed on the roof of a hospital building, with the objective of defining a technical solution capable of reducing noise transmission to the surrounding environment and sensitive areas within the facility.
The scope of work included the characterization of noise sources, the analysis of equipment locations, the identification of sensitive receptors, and the evaluation of sound propagation in the immediate surroundings of the installation.
Based on the results obtained, an acoustic barrier was designed and adapted to the actual rooftop conditions, considering acoustic performance, architectural integration, structural resistance, equipment maintenance requirements, and compatibility with the ventilation needs necessary for the proper operation of the chillers.
The project also included the definition of materials, geometry, height, layout, and fixing systems for the acoustic barrier, ensuring a solution that was technically, constructively, and operationally feasible.
The result was a noise mitigation solution aimed at reducing the acoustic impact of the installation, improving comfort within the hospital environment, and maintaining the operational performance of the HVAC equipment
